Research shows promise for Massage Therapy and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Recent research has been published on the benefits of Massage and Rheumatoid Arthritis (pubmed.gov). According to the study, patients responded better to moderate pressure massage, than light pressure. After one month of receiving weekly massages, the recipients of the moderate pressure massages experienced less pain, greater grip strength and improved range of motion in their wrist, elbow and shoulder joints.

Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers are encouraged to talk with their primary care physicians about the possibility of incorporating Massage Therapy into their current treatment plan to help manage pain and increase mobility for improved daily living activities.
